Alcova Elementary’s READing Paws program has been highlighted in a recent
issue of “Atlanta Magazine.”

Alcova Elementary is in its third year of successfully implementing the program. READing Paws is an affiliate of R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) by which participating dogs and their handlers go through special training to work with young readers.

Elaine Bryan, a Georgia Perimeter College professor, and Nellie Grace, a 90-pound Great Pyrenees, visit Alcova Elementary once a week.
