The Button Gwinnett Stamp Club announces its "GwinnPEX" (Gwinnett Philatelic Exhibition) to be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, October 16 and 17, at the Mountain Park United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 1405 Rockbridge Rd, Stone Mountain.
On hand will be at least 14 dealers at 35 tables of philatelic items with resources to offer free appraisals on items supplied by visitors or items collectors wish to purchase.
Now in its eighth year, the event draws philatelists and dealers from all across the southeastern United States. This is one of two such events sponsored by the Button Gwinnett Stamp Club each year and serves as an opportunity where collectors can bring their own collections to show and add to them or to sell items of no further use. This includes stamps (both cancelled and mint), first-day covers (envelopes with stamps and special cachets printed onto the envelopes), plate blocks, precanceled stamps, souvenir sheets, albums and all other items of interest to philatelists.
A joint meeting of the Button Gwinnett Stamp Club and the Atlanta Stamp Club will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 16 (following the close of the first day of the event).
There is no admission fee and parking is also free. A concession stand will be available as well as a youth table with free items for youth collectors.
