They say that communication is key to all relationships. I believe this simple truth is overlooked when making your list of what you want in a mate. Someone who is all five of the top things on your list would be amazing to find. Imagine how disappointed you will be when you find out that when you explain how you feel. She only hears that wha wha wha sound that friends of Charlie Brown’s hear.
Remember, Venus & Mars have their own languages. I’m not sure what to do if you fall in love with someone in this situation. Perhaps, just cut your losses and exit the relationship before the inevitable explosion. Make no mistake. It is coming.

I say “Γεια σου μωρό μου. Θα δούμε μεγάλη σήμερα”, she understands “Hi ทารก คุณดูดีในวันนี้”. In fact, I said, “Hi baby. You look great today”. This was a silly way to explain my point. If two people speak different languages. It will never work. Why? Because the are really speaking the exact same language. But damage from the past keeps them from understanding what is being said. This, is more important than anything else on your list. Yet it is on almost no one’s list at all.
I truly dislike always bringing up problems without solutions. Maybe I want to tackle the hard stuff way too much. Not sure. But this is a tough one, an overlooked one, and a sure fire way to fail in a relationship. Sadly. I know of no cure.

“A wonderful fact to reflect upon, that every human creature is constituted to be that profound secret and mystery to every other.” ― Charles Dickens
I don’t believe Mr Dickens was talking about a relationship at all. Or, maybe he was, and I’m reading it wrong…… I know you saw what I did there.
There was a time, way back in the day, that I thought I was great at relationships. Well, I am not. I’ve reached an age where I am opinionated and believe myself to be right a lot. Not always. Maybe in another few years I will get there. I guess I know my weaknesses when it comes to relationships. The two most important in my life really were close relationships. Only one remains. In baseball, that’s a .500 average. In the relationship game, it isn’t that great at all.
Ever wondered how it became so difficult? I have. I’ve invested so many hours into discovering what relationships are all about. I got nothing. And when I’m out of ideas, the world may have spun off it’s axis, hell might be completely frozen, and somewhere on the planet, a man may actually be right.
To wrestle daily about what relationships should and shouldn’t be is exhausting. Perhaps even maddening. Although recent events have me rethinking my goal in this arena. I still want to know all I can. Who knows, maybe I can help someone on the journey.
