Indiana Jones has nothing on me. I love a fast pace and a new discovery around every corner. I think this is a lifestyle, not a trait. Having lived a life of speed, adventure, and a fair amount of lessons. I can honestly say. I love the mystery I call tomorrow. Having explained my personality in fuzzy detail here. You can imagine what down time does to a soul like mine. As an athlete, downtime was a killer or a thriller.

Boxing, fighting was my game. It’s never what others think. Even other fighters. I have no violent tendencies or anger perse. The competitive nature, science of striking. Those were my motivations. Not sure why I was any good at them at all. I did always wonder why everyone wasn’t great at them though. They are the simplest abilities. Learn where to strike and deliver. Basic stuff.

Yesterday was one of the longest days of my life. Having it behind me feels like an accomplishment, although, I know it wasn’t a feat at all. Spending half the day in the hospital is something I cannot stand. I felt caged. I must surrender to everyone and anyone there. Not something I do naturally at all. I lay in a bed, half clothed in a silly “gown”. Even the nurse that came in thought it was too small. One size fits all when you have a 56 inch chest is a bit silly looking. She did say she would look for a bigger one, to no avail.
We all have down time. It may not be in the hospital. But, it’s somewhere we don’t want to be every time. How do you handle it? I have always looked past it myself. Yesterday, that was difficult. In the hospital, there are so many couples. Watching one being concerned for the other was brutal on a guy trying to find his “Forever”. Not that I think I will come up lame one day. But. Having someone there that shares a mutual love would be awesome. I can also be there for them. This is a close second only because I would rather take on the pain than watch them deal with it. “It’s ok, she is my wife”. That would have been wonderful to say.

Yes! Only a girl named Fannie could be this insightful. Genius even.
