Former Georgia Tech Quarterback and College Football Hall of Famer Joe Hamilton Expands QB Country Training to Atlanta

National quarterback training and development company QB Country is expanding its program to the Atlanta Georgia in early February. Georgia Tech’s all-time leader in offense Joe Hamilton will lead the Atlanta-based operations and training.

“QB Country is excited to begin training quarterbacks in Atlanta. It was important to wait for the right guy, rather than plugging anyone in just to have a presence; Joe Hamilton is the right guy. We expand to cities where coaches have a strong relationship with the community and a strong desire to help players both on and off the field,” said QB Country Founder David Morris, a former quarterback at Ole Miss. Alabama's Jake Coker, NFL top draft prospect Paxton Lynch, and Cincinnati Bengals' AJ McCarron are among the current quarterbacks working with QB Country.

In his senior season at Georgia Tech, Hamilton was the Davey O’Brien Award recipient (given to the Nation’s top QB), the Heisman Trophy runner-up, a consensus 1st team All-American and is still the school’s all-time leader in passing and total offense.

“I’m extremely excited to team up with QB Country,” said Hamilton. I’ve always believed that serving others is the best way to be successful, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to do that in the city I played my college ball.”

QB Country provides year-round specialized training for quarterbacks from middle school through the NFL, focusing on the physical and mental aspects required to play the quarterback position. QB Country trainees have gone on to become recognized college and NFL quarterbacks. Current trainees include Alabama’s Jake Coker, NFL draft prospect Paxton Lynch, Bengals QB AJ McCarron, Duke QB Thomas Sirk (co-MVP of 2015 New Era Pinstripe Bowl) and 2015 Georgia HS Gatorade Player of the Year Jake Fromm (committed to play for Alabama, 2017). Twenty QB Country trainees from the 2015 high school graduating class signed college football scholarships.

“In the heart of both ACC and SEC country, quarterbacks in Atlanta will benefit from Joe’s experience both on and off the field. The mesh of Joe’s leadership and our tested year-round quarterback training program will help impact the young people of the great city of Atlanta,” added Morris. QB Country has ten facilities, including new locations in both Charlotte and New Orleans.

QB Country quarterbacks are taught basic fundamentals to the complexities of offense and defense. Training focuses on the proper footwork, throwing and body mechanics, as well as the mental and physical aspects of playing quarterback. QB’s learn how to evaluate game film and what to look for when studying defensive football.

“Knowledge and understanding is the key to playing fast and confident football. Each athlete trains in a positive and competitive learning environment, stressing discipline, attitude, character and leadership,” said Morris. “Quarterbacks learn the tangibles and intangibles of playing the hardest, most disciplined position in all of sports.”

Paxton Lynch and QB Country

Top NFL Draft prospect & former Memphis QB Paxton Lynch recently agreed to work with QB Country during his preparation for the combine, Pro Day and draft day process. “We are very excited to have the opportunity, along with D1 Sports of Orlando, to get Paxton ready for the NFL combine, Pro Day and the draft process,” said Morris. "We are ready to get to work.” Charlie Taaffe, head of QB Country – Orlando, will lead Paxton’s QB training.

QB Country Trainee Jacob Coker Leads Alabama to College Football Championship

Jake Coker led the Alabama Crimson Tide over the Clemson Tigers 45-40 in the 2015 College Football Playoff Championship. Coker completed 16 of 25 passes, while throwing for a career-high 335 yards and two touchdowns. QB Country trainees have won three of the previous five National Championships (AJ McCarron, 2012, 2011).
