GA-PCOM Student Elected to Leadership Role in the American Academy of Pediatrics

Britta Roach, a D.O. student at Georgia Campus - Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, wins a representative position for the AAP.

(SUWANEE, GA – February 9, 2015) The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Section on Medical Students, Residents and Fellowship Trainees elected Georgia Campus – Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (GA-PCOM) student Britta Roach (DO ’17) to the position of District Representative to the Medical Student Subcommittee for the 2015 term. The AAP is a professional membership organization of pediatric specialists that devote themselves to the physical, mental, and social health of infants, children, adolescents and young adults.

Roach, who lives in Buford, is in her second year at GA-PCOM. She previously received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. This leadership opportunity with the AAP will provide Roach with significant networking, scholarship, and award access. She will also attend the section’s long range planning meeting this February and the Academy’s National Conference & Exhibition in October.
