Georgia Gwinnett Professor Appointed to DeKalb School Board
GGC professor Michael Erwin was one of the six people selected by Gov. Nathan Deal to fill the seats on the troubled board.

An educator in Gwinnett was appointed to DeKalb County's School Board.
Michael Erwin is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Georgia Gwinnett College's School of Science and Technology.
Erwin joins five others who will try to reshape the troubled school board. He will represent District 3.

Last month, Gov. Deal suspended six Dekalb County School Board members. Erwin and four others were sworn into office Wednesday afternoon at DeKalb Schools headquarters in Stone Mountain. A fifth member was out of town at the time.
