Government Vs Free Market

By: Kenneth Stepp

We have settled into a psycoptic daze because government has become our caretaker, protector, and provider. This was not only the intention when it was being created. It is what is breaking the country less of us love daily. Lately, on a very fast scale. Have you ever actually compared what “we the people” can accomplish better than allowing our government to run amuck with our resources? Our very lives? We are in danger because of this. Our lives are at risk. And they do not care. Let’s imagine something better.

Government Waste

I will begin with Cash For Clunkers. This was a program developed to help the car manufacturers sell more cars. First. They take the money we made by working hard. They took it by force. Then they wrote $4500.00 checks for ANY car, no matter what the condition, as long as it was being traded in on a new car. They spent $25,000.00 per $4500.00 check written, and the checks were over one hundred days late getting to the dealers, and $19,500.00 spent to simply write the checks. Then, to tie a bow on it, they added interest to the already bloated debt and charged all of us to have this program to help these ”private” corporations.

Alternative, Free Market Ideas

1. Have “real” for profit companies write the checks. Offer them $1000.00 in fees to simply write these checks, keep up with the deals, and confirm that everything went as planned. EVERY company in the US with the capability would jump at the chance. The dealers would have been paid on time, billions saved. Less government, less waste.

2. Allow unemployed people across America that qualify to do it. Pick up the clunker from the dealer, strip it to sell the parts for income to help their families, then keep the money the car brings when crushed. Now, we have an end user making money the taxpayer would be giving them anyway. Couple that with a company like, let’s say, Paychex implementing the deal, and again. Billions saved. Less government, less waste.

3. My favorite plan. Do nothing. Allow these top heavy, overgrown, poorly ran companies to go out of business. Don’t run up debt to save them temporarily, stop abusing the office held, and make decisions based on what is good for the nation, not what the lobbyists want. A novel idea. Foreign to our leaders. They would laugh if they heard it.

I would shout it from my rooftop. But no one cares. Most people believe if they repost anti-government crap on Facebook, they are helping the cause. I do not have many answers. But, that is certainly not one. I guess the first thing I would suggest is stop listening to or believing the media in America. It’s owned by the same people that is causing the problems. They brainwash us into thinking things that are rediculous are true. And things that are true, are simply believed by conspiracy nuts. They sell us on needless wars, on who to hate, and on agendas that will kill us. If you don’t believe me. Check out what medication costs are in other developed countries, or people with diseases that in the US are death sentences are actually cured or controlled easily elsewhere.

Think for yourselves, love your country, question your political party on everything. Start there. That should keep you busy for a while.
