Gwinnett Library Hosts a Writer's Workshop with YA Authors Laurel Snyder and Vicky Alvear Shecter

Writers . . . Do you know who your audience is? Join bestselling Teen and YA authors Vicky Alvear Shecter and Laurel Snyder as they share the differences between YA and Middle Grade stories and take your questions about the writing and publishing process. Writers may bring the first page of their own MG or YA work and authors will provide brief critique as time allows.

Snyder is the award-winning author of children’s novels, Bigger than a Bread Box and Any Which Wall, children’s picture books, books of poetry, and a nonfiction anthology. Shecter has written two nonfiction books for young readers: Alexander the Great Rocks the World, a VOYA Honor Book for Nonfiction, and Cleopatra Rules! The Amazing Life of the Original Teen Queen and others. The event will be held at the Five Forks Branch of the library, 2780 Five Forks Trickum Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30044 on May 2 at 1pm. This FREE workshop is presented by Gwinnett County Public Library in partnership with The Southern Breeze region of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
