Man Convicted of Molesting Babysitter, 14, in Gwinnett
Sentencing is scheduled Friday in Gwinnett County.

A Decatur man will be sentenced in Gwinnett County Friday for molesting a 14-year-old babysitter last year.
Jelani Abasi Richardson, 26, was convicted of three counts of child molestation and one count of aggravated sexual battery last Thursday in Gwinnett Superior Court, the Gwinnett Daily Post reported.
Richardson was found guilty of assaulting the babysitter of his girlfriend’s child last August at the victim’s residence in unincorporated Stone Mountain. Richardson had come to the residence to pick up the child before the incident.

Gwinnett’s Chief Assistant District Attorney Dan Mayfield told the Post Richardson also sent the victim “incriminating text messages, including details about what he had done.”
Richardson is facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years in prison.
