UPDATED: Man Tased, Fatally Shot by Police in Buford

Gwinnett County Police were at the scene to investigate a report of people smoking marijuana.

A man was tased and fatally shot during a Dec. 4 incident on North Alexander Street in Buford.

The suspect has been identified as 20-year-old Jose Antonio Hernandez-Gonzalez of Buford.

Gwinnett County Police were dispatched to a small apartment complex in response a report of people smoking marijuana. Upon arrival, officers encountered a group of five or six people in the parking lot.

One of the officers began to frisk an adult Hispanic male. The male pulled away from the officer, withdrew a handgun out of his clothing and pointed the gun at his own head. Officers ordered the man to drop the gun, but he failed to comply.
