Memorial Service to Honor Body Donors at GA-PCOM

GA-PCOM has planned a memorial service to honor those who donated their bodies to the College's Body Donation Program.

As part of the memorial service, students light candles to

honor those who donated their bodies to the program.

(SUWANEE, GA – May 5, 2015) On Saturday, May 9 at 10 a.m., the Georgia Campus—Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (GA-PCOM) will honor those who donated their bodies to medical science this year at a memorial service. The Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) Council, along with Jeffrey K. Seiple, Anatomical Coordinator for the College’s Department of Biomedical Science, have planned the program which will be attended by students, faculty members and the families of the donors.

Attendees are invited to breakfast at 9 a.m. and a service in the College Atrium at 10 a.m. The cremains of the donors will be presented to the families during the memorial service, which will also include testimonies from faculty and students, stories from family members, a lighting of candles, and a moment of silence.

GA-PCOM recognizes that those who donate their remains to science make a tremendous contribution to the body of knowledge and depth of understanding surrounding medical education.
