Motorist Extracted From Car After Wreck with Tractor-Trailer on Ga. 316

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported that a motorist was trapped in a vehicle at the scene of a Thursday morning accident on Highway 316 near Hurricane Trail Road. 

The AJC initially reported that at least one person was killed. At approximately 8:15 a.m., @AJC tweeted an update:

"Update: Motorist under tractor-trailer still alive. Firefighters trying to cut him out of car."

Gwinnett County Police public information officer Cpl. Jake Smith confirmed that information in an emailed press release.

"This accident is not a fatal at this time," Smith wrote. "It was a two vehicle accident: tractor trailer vs. passenger car.  The passenger car went under the trailer.  The driver was injured and trapped, but has since been removed and transported to the hospital."
