Nine Gwinnett Hoopsters Nominated for McDonald's Game

Eight girls from Gwinnett County have a chance to play in the prestigious high school all-star game.

Nine high school basketball players from Gwinnett County have been nominated to play in the annual McDonald's All-American all-star games later this year.

Eight of the 15 nominated girls from Georgia play for local teams:

Lexie Brown and Peyton Whitted, North Gwinnett; Shayla Cooper and Diamond DeShields, Norcross; Kaela Davis and Kristina Nelson, Buford; and Courtney Gardner and Rebecca Walker, Brookwood.

Isaiah Williams from Buford High was nominated as a boys all-star.

The final rosters will be determined Feb. 14.

The McDonald's All-American games are scheduled for April 3 at the United Center in Chicago.
