Oak Hall Companies and Jim Chapman Communities Partner to Create Innovative Mixed-Use 55+ Neighborhood at Lake Lanier
Lakefront community to include 140 boat slips, wide selection of living options, more
Tad Braswell and Jim Chapman, the principals of Oak Hall Companies and Jim Chapman Communities, plan to start development of a beautiful 206-acres lakefront parcel in the City of Gainesville (Hall County) in the spring of 2017. This will be their fourth and largest active adult community to-date in the greater Atlanta area.
The yet-to-be-named age-restricted community will include a total of 739 homes, with construction starting in the fall of 2017:
· 248 single-family detached homes

· 27 stacked flats
· 175 independent living units, and
· 150 assisted living/memory care units
The mixed-use neighborhood will encompass 1.1 miles of Lake Lanier frontage with 140 boat slip docks as well as 24,000 sq. ft. of retail, office and restaurant space. A large clubhouse and outdoor swimming pool are part of the elegant master plan, as are paved sidewalks throughout the beautifully landscaped community. The developers intend to donate land to the City of Gainesville to build a new fire station.
The community’s superb setting will appeal to 55+ buyers not only from metro Atlanta but from all over the Eastern seaboard. It is located right on Lake Lanier - and just a half mile from the McEver Road/Highway 53 intersection, one mile from downtown Gainesville with its restaurants and shops, and close to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center and Atlanta’s world-class medical facilities.
Chapman, who currently serves as 2016 Chairman of the NAHB 55+ Housing Industry Council, notes: “For baby boomers who are ready to live life to the fullest, the Atlanta area is a great place to be. This Lake Lanier location, in particular, offers active adults many outdoor recreational opportunities, while they’ll also be close to the city with its cultural events, sports teams and international airport.”
