Press Release: Georgia's Lanier Islands Prepares to Light the Fuse on a Fabulous Fourth of July Weekend

Beach, Boardwalk and Waterpark Entertainment District at Southern Lakeside Resort Will Play Host to Four-Day Holiday Celebration

Buford, Ga. – June 23, 2016 – Patriots, sun worshippers and fun seekers will unite on the shores of Lake Lanier for yet another epic Independence Day weekend celebration at Georgia’s Lanier Islands. Spanning four days, the lakeside event will consist of music concerts, rocking DJs, live entertainment, food & drink specials, a patriotic tribute throughout each day on the new high-definition Spectacular Screen that soars five stories above Big Beach, and fireworks display on two of the four days. With the majority of activity planned at LanierWorld – the resort’s sprawling beach, boardwalk and waterpark entertainment district – guests will be able to enhance their Fourth of July weekend commemorations with more than a dozen waterslides and attractions, pickup games of beach volleyball, the unique “be the ball” experience of Battle Ball, a mad dash across an aquatic obstacle course, and so much more.

To help guests plan their visit to Lanier Islands over the Independence Day Weekend, the celebration schedule is as follows:

Friday, July 1
LanierWorld Open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
After enjoying a “toes in the sand, blast at the waterpark” kind of day, LanierWorld guests are invited to dance the night away when the high-octane country musicians of Haywire Band take the Sunset Cove Stage from 3-7 p.m., followed by tunes spun by a DJ from 7-11 p.m.

Saturday, July 2
LanierWorld Open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. – Fireworks Show begins after dark
Lanier Islands is teaming up with KICKS 101.5 to provide LanierWorld guests with one rocking Saturday filled with live entertainment throughout the day – including performances by Paris Luna and Co. and Laura Ashley and the Train Wreckers. Once the sun goes down, everyone will want to secure some prime real estate on Big Beach and Sunset Cove to catch the fireworks and special patriotic presentation on the Spectacular Screen.

Sunday, July 3
LanierWorld Open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. – Fireworks Show begins after dark
In addition to a day filled with checking every water slide and attraction off the to-do list, guests can enjoy a late dinner at Sunset Cove Beach Café & Club while listening to American Flyers from 8 p.m. to midnight. Once the sun goes down, everyone will want to snag a spot on Big Beach and Sunset Cove to catch the fireworks and special patriotic presentation on the Spectacular Screen.

Monday, July 4
LanierWorld Open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Fun in the sun is the theme for the bulk of this Fourth of July celebration.
