Scout Show

Thousands of area Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Venturers and
Explorers will gather this weekend at the Gwinnett Fairgrounds to present their
annual Scout Show. Open to the public, the Scout Show allows youth from the
community to demonstrate skills ranging from knot-tying and flag retirements to
soapbox derby races and outdoor cooking.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our young men and women
to showcase their talents and skills to the public, and give the boys a chance
to build relationships with Scouts from other packs and troops,” said Tim
Green, event organizer. “It is also a way for the youth who are not a part of
Scouting to get acquainted with the Boy Scouts and what we do.”

Activities will begin at 9am with an honor guard saluting a
15 vehicle military convoy. The show will run from 10-4 and will include a
Venturing Extreme Challenge Race, two liter bottle rockets, chess skills, rope
building, horseback riding, and more. 770-962-2105
