Two Ships Passing.... A Special Friend

Have you ever wondered if by chance you already met your soulmate and nothing happened? Welcome to the weird way my mind processes things. We’ve all heard the expression, “two ships passing in the night”. Unlike many singles on this crazy journey. I almost feel I’ve lived it, or something like it. some days, my memories kick into high gear and I remember passing that ship.

She was magnificent. She was unlike any I’d known before. She made me want to be a better human being. Have you ever been there? A person almost forgotten in my memory. She wasn’t a second thought to me until we were face to face again. I saw her for who she was. She’s incredible. What’s odd is that she has no idea how amazing she is. To her, she’s just another girl on a journey.

I would love to convince her how special she is. Not for me, for her. I want her to know. I feel she wouldn’t believe me if I told her. She’s gone from one relationship to another. None working out. Those men had no idea what they had. And she has never known her worth. A gem in a sea of stones.

I now know how true Mr Shakespeare’s quote is. Every guy out there has a list. Most is a woman they can control, a woman who would allow them independence while they afford her none, etc. Imbalanced as that sounds, it’s what I’ve found. My “list”, yes we all have one. Smart, strong, and independent. She’s all that and much more.

I wonder how safe she felt in relationships. I doubt if she ever felt truly safe, truly bonded with another permanently. I believe we have fallen for others at the wrong time. It happens. I’ve seen it since becoming single at an age I never thought would happen. She and I are just friends, very good friends. And will remain very good friends from now on. I would do anything for her.

“Now for the reason I am writing this”. I wanted to paint a picture for you. I want you to know a few things about finding your forever love, your soulmate. I’m on that journey with you.

Somewhere out there someone is thinking or will think all these things about you and if they are lucky, you will think the same things about them. You see, to be with anyone who doesn’t feel like this would mean you both settled. And that would start the cycle of going from one relationship to another. That is not the goal, but it happens more often than not. I wanted to paint a picture that is understandable and explain how special you are or will be to that wonderful person who has these thoughts about you. Search for them as they search for you. Not everyone will get there, perhaps most won’t……
