Unincorporated Gwinnett’s Tobacco/Vaping Compliance Rate is at 76%

Underage use of tobacco and vaping products is an important issue that continues to require our attention in Gwinnett County. One way that helps reduce the access our teens have to these products is through conducting compliance checks. During these checks, an underage decoy goes inside a store and tries to purchase tobacco or vaping products. If an employee sells to the decoy, he or she receives a citation. This serves as a clear reminder and expectation to check IDs and not sell tobacco and vaping products to those under 21.

GUIDE would like to recognize and show appreciation to the Unincorporated Gwinnett retailers that did not sell tobacco or vaping products during compliance checks from April 2023 to September 2023. These stores help us to ensure the teens in our community stay safe.
