Who Won the Peachtree Road Race?

The wet start to the Fourth of July holiday in Atlanta began with a splash down Peachtree Street with the 44th Peachtree Road Race.

According to the Atlanta Track Club's website, the 10-kilometer race was to begin with a Moderate Alert for "less than ideal" conditions. The club cautioned runners to slow down and "be prepared for worsening conditions."

The overall winners were:

Men: Mosinet Geremew, Ethiopia, 28 minutes, 4 seconds.
Women: Lineth Chepkurui, Kenya, 32:07
Men's Wheelchair: Josh Cassidy, 21:14
Women's Wheelchair: Manuela Schar, 25:43.
