Woman to Police: "What Are You Arresting Me for, Crossing the Street?"

A woman is being accused of littering a Lawrenceville roadway with a teacher's school papers and crossing the street without using a crosswalk.
Omiyanka Bruce, 22, of McDonough, was arrested last month on two charges of criminal trespassing (damage) and one charge each of criminal trespassing (interference of property), pedestrian not using a crosswalk, and littering.
According to the Gwinnett County Police report, an officer responded to a parking lot near the intersection of Sugarloaf Parkway and Lawrenceville Highway around midnight on a recent Thursday in regards to an alleged dispute between Bruce and the victim, a 29-year-old teacher from Lawrenceville.

In the 911 call, the victim told authorities that Bruce had opened all the doors of her car in the parking lot and would not let her shut them so that she could drive away. The suspect also refused to leave the vehicle, added the victim.
