• Join Us in Making a Difference! Serve Pickens 2026 needs your support (pickensprogress.com) — A countywide volunteer day is coming up at Jasper United Methodist Church on October 24, with breakfast at 8 a.m. before teams head out to help local nonprofits. Organizers are recruiting sponsors and volunteers, including Bent Tree clubs, for projects like Habitat for Humanity builds, painting, and landscaping. Residents can sign up now to support Pickens charities together.
   

• Student leaders aim to inspire high-schoolers (ung.edu) — A Jasper native, Sigourney Waina, is serving as SGA vice president at the University of North Georgia's Dahlonega campus and recently spoke with high-school leaders at a CTSO Summit.
