• Melvin Wade Rowell (theblacksheartimes.com) — Family and friends are mourning Hortense native Melvin Wade Rowell, whose arrangements were handled by a Jesup funeral home and whose family suggests memorial donations to Hospice of South Georgia in Jesup. Rowell was remembered for his love of shooting sports, storytelling, and the deep impact he had on his community and loved ones.
   

• Alvin Harley Howell (theblacksheartimes.com) — Loved ones are remembering Waycross resident Alvin Harley Howell, whose family includes a son living in Jesup. The longtime truck driver and church member is survived by his wife of 64 years, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and will be honored at a private family Celebration of Life.
