Keep Cobb Beautiful launches alkaline battery recycling program at seven library branches (blogspot.com) — Kennesaw residents can now drop off used alkaline batteries for free recycling at North Cobb Regional and West Cobb Regional libraries, part of a new countywide program. Keep Cobb Beautiful and Cobb County Public Library partnered with TerraCycle to place collection buckets behind service desks, helping keep hazardous batteries out of landfills and reducing fire risks in household trash.
2. Things to do this weekend in Cobb County: Friday August 21 to Sunday, August 23 (cobbcountycourier.com) — If you're in or near Kennesaw this weekend, you've got plenty to do, including a free Rumours ATL Fleetwood Mac tribute concert at Depot Park on Saturday night. The roundup also highlights farmers markets, festivals, art events, and family‑friendly activities across Cobb County from Friday through Sunday, with links to confirm details before you go.
3. Owls Picked Tied for Third, Burrage Named Preseason All-CUSA (ksuowls.com) — Kennesaw State volleyball is gearing up for the 2026 season with a preseason prediction to finish tied for third in Conference USA and senior middle blocker Olivia Burrage named to the preseason all-conference team. The Owls return a strong core, open at a tournament in North Carolina, and host their home opener Sept. 4, while KSU Athletics promotes its new Champions Fund to support student‑athletes.
4. InternViews: Dyllon Glaze (uga.edu) — A University of Georgia student from Kennesaw, Dyllon Glaze, is spending her summer in Los Angeles interning with independent film company ShivHans Pictures. She describes how Grady College coursework prepared her for script coverage, pitching projects, and understanding film development, and shares the mentorship, challenges, and career inspiration she's gained from the experience.
