Town Center Community seeks public input on 30-Year Master Plan (macon.com) — Kennesaw-area residents are invited to help shape the Town Center Community's 30-year Vision Master Plan at an open house on Sept. 10 at the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Community Room on Big Shanty Road. You'll be able to mark up maps, share priorities, and talk directly with planners about how this major corridor should grow, change, and invest over the coming decades.
3. Research into muscular degeneration wins top prize at Birla Carbon Symposium (kennesaw.edu) — A Kennesaw State University biology student has earned top honors at the 2026 Birla Carbon Scholars Symposium for research into age-related muscle degeneration using fruit flies, work that could inform how exercise protects muscles as we age. The program, funded by Birla Carbon, also supports dozens of KSU undergraduates and a new international research track, underscoring growing scientific opportunities based in Kennesaw.
4. Kennesaw Professor Retires (opedge.com subscription) — Kennesaw readers may recognize biomechanics professor Mark Geil, who is retiring from Kennesaw State University after more than 28 years in Georgia's university system.
