• Georgia Lottery tickets sold in Lilburn, Savannah and Norcross win big (wsbtv.com) — A Powerball ticket sold at the Chevron Food Mart on Stone Mountain Highway in Lilburn has earned one local player $50,000 after matching four numbers plus the Powerball in the Oct. 7 drawing. Other Georgia Lottery players in Savannah and Norcross also scored big prizes, and the next Powerball jackpot on Oct. 10 is projected at $516 million.
   

• Former Gwinnett therapist to serve 5 life sentences for assaulting teen over 50 times (ocgnews.com) — A Lilburn man has been sentenced in Gwinnett County to five life terms for repeatedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl over two years, following his conviction on multiple rape and child molestation charges. Prosecutors say the former child therapist abused his position as a supposed "father figure," while local special victims prosecutors and Gwinnett police were credited with bringing the case to a close.
   

• Inside The Chart: Rebuilt (ramblinwreck.com) — A Georgia Tech football captain who once starred at Parkview High School in Lilburn is drawing praise for his resilience after overcoming two ACL tears and a fractured leg to return to the field. Coaches say his determination, early enrollment for rehab, and leadership have made him a locker-room example, even as he continues rebuilding his career after repeated injuries.
