DeKalb launches udderly amazing art project (decaturish.com) — Lithonia will soon receive its own life-size fiberglass cow as part of DeKalb County's new public art project celebrating its dairy history. Local artists can apply by Aug. 23 to design the Lithonia cow, with selected creators paid $3,000 and installations planned between late October and early November across all 12 DeKalb cities.
   

• Lithonia man sentenced in deadly gas station shooting (fox5atlanta.com) — A Lithonia-area gas station shooting on Covington Highway has led to a life-without-parole sentence for the 21-year-old man convicted of killing another man there in March 2025. Jurors heard evidence including surveillance video and text messages suggesting the shooting was planned, and prosecutors say the victim never drew his weapon before being repeatedly shot.
