• Loganville City Council Work Session is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 5 (monroelocal.org) — Loganville residents can weigh in on key city issues when the City Council holds its work session at City Hall on Monday, Oct. 5 at 6:30 p.m., with a regular meeting following Oct. 8. Topics include choosing new legal representation, addressing high fuel costs, traffic-calming measures on Covington Street, and an emergency water agreement with Gwinnett County, all open for public attendance or YouTube viewing.
   

• Georgia deputy detects smell, then finds machetes, cell phones, drugs and a drone (wjcl.com) — A Loganville man, Jalen Jones, was arrested after Monroe County deputies stopped his vehicle and reported finding large quantities of suspected meth, marijuana, fentanyl, a heavy-lift drone, machetes, and 29 cell phones. Investigators believe the items fit a pattern of prison contraband drops, and Jones remains jailed without bond on multiple trafficking and distribution charges that may concern Loganville residents.
