Loganville Home Destroyed By Fire
The Friday afternoon blaze caused a roof collapse and other heavy damage to the home.
LOGANVILLE, GA — A fire Friday afternoon destroyed a Loganville home and sent one person to the hospital due to smoke inhalation.
Gwinnett County firefighters responded at 2:40 p.m. to the blaze at the 1100 block of Burning Bush Drive in Loganville. A 911 caller had reported that the home's back deck was engulfed in flames.
When emergency crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames showing from the back of the two-story wood house and flames already burning on all floors and in the attic.

Firefighters attacked the blaze with hoses, but heavy flames fanned by high winds forced them to back out of the home and battle the fire from outside.
At that point, part of the home's roof collapsed.

Eventually, they were able to make their way back inside. No one was found inside the home and the home and its contents were deemed a total loss due to the fire.
One occupant, who had gotten out of the home before fire crews arrived, was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville for evaluation due to smoke exposure. No other injuries were reported.
The American Red Cross was contacted to assist three adults and one child displaced due to the fire.
The exact cause of the fire remained under investigation Saturday morning.
