• Hours-long standoff ends with arrest after police say man set fire to his home (wsbtv.com) — An hours-long police standoff on Wandering Vine Drive in Mableton ended with officers arresting a man after investigators say he intentionally set fire to his own home. Neighbors were evacuated, some couldn't return for hours, and families described the scene of smoke, fire trucks, and SWAT officers as frightening before the situation was resolved without further injuries.
• Cobb & Douglas Public Health Expands Access to Blood Pressure Checks (cobbcountycourier.com) — Residents can now check their blood pressure at the Family Restoration Life Center in Mableton, thanks to a new monitoring station installed by Cobb & Douglas Public Health and partners.
