Ohio man to serve 15 years in Middle Georgia child molestation case (41nbc.com) — A man from Ohio has been sentenced to 20 years, with 15 in prison, for child molestation in a case prosecuted by the Macon Judicial Circuit and investigated by Macon law enforcement and the Bibb County Sheriff's Office. He must register as a sex offender, avoid the victim's family, and is permanently banished from the Macon Judicial Circuit.
2. Bibb County police chase with box truck ends on I-75 in Houston County, sheriff's office says (13wmaz.com) — Drivers in and around Macon saw a major police response Wednesday after a box truck fled a Bibb County deputy's traffic stop, sparking a chase down I-75 into Warner Robins and briefly closing lanes near Russell Parkway. Multiple agencies helped stop the truck, the driver was taken into custody without reported injuries or a crash, and more details are expected later.
3. How gas prices have changed in Macon in the last week (savannahherald.com) — Macon drivers are paying about $3.82 per gallon for regular gas this week, slightly above the Georgia average and nearly a dollar more than a year ago. Diesel prices have climbed even faster, and the story compares Macon's costs to some of the cheapest and most expensive metros nationwide.
