Macon Restaurant Week returns with 20 downtown restaurants particpiating (41nbc.com) — Downtown Macon's Restaurant Week is back, with 20 locally owned spots offering special dishes and a passport program that can earn you prizes. By collecting five stamps at participating businesses, you'll snag Macon Magazine merch, a free subscription, and a shot at a $250 gift card to a downtown Macon business of your choice.
2. The Holiday Is Over, but Higher Gas Prices Aren't (wnegradio.com) — Macon drivers are now paying among the highest gas prices in Georgia, with regular averaging about $4.04 a gallon as oil stays above $100 per barrel. AAA says there's no clear sign of relief yet, urging residents to comparison-shop and improve fuel efficiency to soften the hit at the pump.
3. Finding the Horizon: The journey of pilot Captain Russell Andrews (fiu.edu) — A veteran charter pilot who grew up in Macon shares how childhood trips to nearby air shows sparked a career that took him from the Marine Corps to flying UPS jets and World Cup passengers. His story traces risky career leaps, family moves, and the thrill and responsibility of commanding aircraft around the world.
4. Rhetoric, The New Batman Villain, Created By Sharif Robbins-Brinson (bleedingcool.com) — A Macon political activist and former Macon Water Authority candidate is credited as the likely creator of Rhetoric, a new, politically charged Batman villain debuting this week. The character challenges Batman as an agent of the status quo, with appearances planned in Detective Comics, Batman, and an upcoming LEGO Batman game.
