Bibb deputies identify 4-year-old in death investigation (41nbc.com) — A 4-year-old girl, Jayde Wooten, died Saturday after a reported medical emergency on Rocky Creek Road in Macon, and Bibb deputies have opened an investigation. First responders rushed from a Macon-Bibb E-911 call, but she was pronounced dead at a local hospital, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the sheriff's office or Macon Regional Crimestoppers.
2. GBI arrests seven people after months-long drug investigation in Macon (13wmaz.com) — State and local agencies wrapped up a nine-month investigation in Macon by arresting seven people and seizing suspected meth, fentanyl, marijuana, prescription pills, 11 guns, and more than $7,000. Everyone arrested was booked into the Bibb County Jail. The GBI's Middle Georgia task forces worked with Bibb, Houston, and Peach county officers, signaling an ongoing regional push against drug and gang activity.
3. 21-year-old man dies after shooting on Pio Nono Avenue in Macon (41nbc.com) — A 21-year-old man was shot in a car on Pio Nono Avenue in Macon Sunday afternoon and later died at Atrium Health Navicent, prompting an active sheriff's investigation. Deputies and first responders rushed to the 2300 block after a Macon-Bibb E-911 call, and authorities are now asking anyone with information to contact the Bibb County Sheriff's Office or Macon Regional Crimestoppers.
4. FALL PREVIEW: Busy Slate For Eagles Begins With Pair Of Tournaments This Week - Georgia Southern University Athletics (gseagles.com) — Georgia Southern's men's tennis team is heading to Macon for the Mercer Gridiron Classic from October 2–4, bringing college-level competition to local courts. The fall schedule also includes major tournaments in Atlanta, Rome, and Florida, but Macon residents can watch the Eagles compete without leaving town. Expect a mix of returning players and new freshmen on court.
