• As October arrives, paranormal convention brings the strange and unusual to Macon (macon.com) — Macon residents can dive into all things paranormal when the new Paranor-Macon convention comes to the Macon Marriott City Center Oct. 16–17, featuring Georgia investigators, cryptid researchers, and spiritual sessions. With a Bigfoot yelling contest, a Fort Hawkins ghost hunt, and talks from seasoned experts, the weekend offers curious locals an unusual way to explore unexplained phenomena close to home.
• Bibb coroner: Watts Road shooting leaves woman dead, husband hospitalized (41nbc.com) — A woman is dead and her husband hospitalized after a Sunday shooting at a home on Watts Road in east Macon, with the Bibb coroner saying she shot him before killing herself. Deputies and paramedics responded just before noon, and the sheriff's office is treating the case as an active death investigation while asking anyone with information to contact them or Macon Regional Crimestoppers.
