MARIETTA, GA — A 61-year-old woman is in jail after police say she shot and killed her neighbor Sunday in the 340 block of Roselane Street.
Marietta Police on Monday said the fatal shooting happened around 4:15 p.m.
The 911 caller told dispatchers her roommate had just been shot, police said. When officers arrived, they found Lucinda Bailey, 62, laying on the floor of the third-floor hallway, police said.
First responders attempted lifesaving measures, and Bailey was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital; however, she died of her injuries, police said.
Her upstairs neighbor, Angela Freeman, was identified as a suspect and was arrested on charges of murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, police said.
Freeman is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, police said.
A motive in the shooting was not revealed. The case remains active.
