MARIETTA, GA — Cobb County investigators on Wednesday say they have arrested a man in connection with the burglary of a deceased NASCAR driver's home in North Carolina, as well as a home in Marietta.
Officers on a zone patrol were responding to a Laurel Creek Trail home on Saturday evening, when they noticed forced entry into the home, police said.
While investigating, officers discovered several valuable items were missing from the home, police said.
Major Crimes detectives were tapped to investigate the case as the home had been the scene of a July 7 homicide, police said.
During the probe, police said the detectives acquired a warrant to arrest Terrell Williams, 44, of Charlotte, North Carolina, and charge him with burglary.
Investigators additionally determined Williams was in possession of items taken from late NASCAR
driver Greg Biffle's family home in January in Iredell County, North Carolina, police said.
Through coordination with local authorities in Iredell, police said Williams also faces charges in North Carolina.
He is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, police said.
