• Cobb County, Marietta Schools Post Record 2026 Graduation Rates (cobbcountycourier.com) — Marietta High School's graduation rate just hit a record 95.1%, up sharply from last year and far above its 2019 level, making it one of metro Atlanta's biggest success stories. Cobb County Schools also reached a record 90.9%. District leaders say they're proud but still focused on helping the remaining students, especially those with disabilities, finish on time.
• 3 charged after police say 15 children in apartment lived in 'deplorable' conditions (local12.com) — Marietta police removed 15 children from a two-bedroom apartment after a welfare check found what investigators called deplorable living conditions, including overcrowding and minimal food. Three adults now face dozens of child cruelty and related charges and are being held without bond, while state child welfare workers have relocated the children to safer settings.
• Adoptable (Official) Georgia Dogs for September 30, 2026 (gapundit.com) — Several rescue dogs, including shy sisters Madi and Stevi Peeps, plus Pam and Dolly, are available now through the Ozzie Albies Foundation in Marietta. Each pup has a different personality and needs, from timid, dog-confident puppies to an energetic young adult. Local families ready for training and patience can apply to give them permanent homes.
