Cobb Man Fired For Smoking Pot, Robs Ex-Boss: Police

The ex-employee pulled a gun on his old boss, stepped on his back and stole $2,000 from his Marietta home, police say.

MARIETTA, GA — A man fired from his job as a construction worker for smoking marijuana on the job responded by violently robbing the Marietta home of the boss who fired him, according to police.

According to Cobb County Police, Jose Salinas only worked on a construction site for one day. That day, David Garcia fired him for the on-the-job toke, police said.

Days later, Salinas and two other men allegedly broke into Garcia's home and held him at gunpoint. They are accused of taking $2,000 from Garcia and robbing his roommate as well. But Garcia thinks the true motive for the crime was revenge.
