Former Lockheed Mechanic Gets 20 Years in Prison For Shooting

The man will serve an additional 20 years on probation.

A Cobb County man who allegedly shot two people during a 2013 house party has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated assault, the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office reports.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, citing a release from the DA’s Office, reported that 43-year-old William Dennis Devore shot a man and a woman with a .22 caliber handgun at a party on Milford Church Lane in March, 2013. The woman had been arguing with Devore’s wife. Both shooting victims survived the attack.

Following the shooting, Devore fled the scene but was tracked down and arrested in Franklin County. Cobb County jail records show that Devore has been in custody since March 31, 2013. The former mechanic with Marietta’s Lockheed Martin had been indicted on two counts of aggravated assault and one count of aggravated battery, but pleaded guilty to the aggravated assault charges only.
