Man Sentenced to Jail For Aggravated Assaults, Threatening Police
Dana Mark Roberts was sentenced to 20 years in jail, with six in custody and the rest of probation.

MARIETTA, GA — A Marietta man has been sentenced to prison for aggravated assault and threatening police officers.
Dana Mark Roberts, 58, pled guilty earlier this week to three counts of aggravated assault, three counts of possession of a knife during commission of a crime, and one count of terroristic threats.
On Aug. 17, 2014, Roberts entered a Mexican restaurant off of Franklin Road where three employees were closing up. When Roberts pulled a knife and made threats, the employees fled to the back of the building and called police. Roberts then sat down at a table, dropped the knife and waited for police.

When Roberts was in the back seat of a Marietta Police cruiser, he made repeated threats against the officers’ lives and also threatened to harm the officers’ families, all of which was recorded.
“Though he has entered a plea in the case, he still has taken zero – ZERO – responsibility for threatening these victims and the lives of these officers,” ADA Courtney Veal said. “Even today, he cannot admit that he made the threats that are recorded on audio and video and were played for the court.”
