Marietta Man Injured In Pedestrian Accident

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, and police are continuing to investigate.

MARIETTA, GA -- Police are continuing to investigate a pedestrian crash that happened on Cobb Parkway near the intersection with Kennestone Circle last Thursday around 10:30 p.m. Police said a red and white 2014 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 2500, owned by Metro Ambulance Service, was traveling westbound on Cobb Parkway in the right lane. The Mercedes Benz entered the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Kennestone Circle under a green traffic light and continued down Cobb Parkway as a male pedestrian entered the roadway and was struck by the Mercedes Benz.

There was not a crosswalk where the pedestrian attempted to cross the road.

Both the driver of the Mercedes Benz, 24-year-old Kayla Williams of Woodstock, and her passenger, 26-year-old Logan Rogers of Acworth, immediately exited the vehicle and began rendering aid to the pedestrian. The pedestrian, 32-year-old Jeremy Conley of Marietta, was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital where he was admitted to the intensive care unit with injuries that are not life threatening.

This collision remains under investigation and anyone with information should contact the Cobb County Police Department’s STEP unit at 770-499-3987. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this collision and investigators expect to file charges.
