Marietta Man Struck By Car, Killed While Crossing Intersection

Marietta, GA -- Police are investigating a pedestrian fatality that happened late Tuesday night on South Cobb Drive.

According to investigators, Pierre Benjamin, 51, of Marietta, was was crossing South Cobb Drive when he was struck by a grey 2011 Chevrolet Cruze traveling in the right southbound lane. Benjamin was in an unlit area and was not utilizing a marked crosswalk.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver has been identified as Blanca Gonzalez, 22, also of Marietta.
