Marietta Teacher Wanted for Sexual Assault Turns Himself In

A former Marietta high school teacher accused of sexually assaulting a student has turned himself in to police.

MARIETTA, GA -- A former Marietta teacher wanted on suspicion of sexually assaulting a student turned himself into police overnight.

Police say Christopher Wade Brown; 37, was a teacher at Mt. Paran Christian School when he allegedly had relations with a 17 year old student in late July. Brown also allegedly attempted to have relations with a 15 year old student from Roswell High School within the past month.

According to Channel 2 Action News, Brown is now in the Cobb County Jail. He is charged with sexual assault by a teacher; influencing a witness and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Brown was fired by Mount Paran Christian High School after the allegations came to light.

“The employment of Mr. Brown was terminated on October 4, 2016 immediately after the school learned that he had committed a violation of the standards of our Christian community,” the school wrote in a statement issued to Channel 2 Action News. “Mr. Brown was employed for one year to teach high school physics, chemistry, and computer science. The MPCS community pledges continued and full support with legal authorities as this matter is pursued. MPCS remains fully committed to a Christ-centered environment that takes very seriously its role in protecting the safety and well-being of all students.”
