Marietta Teen Killed In Ga. 400 Crash
The crash happened at about 11 p.m. on Friday, according to the Sandy Springs Police Department.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA — A 19-year-old from Marietta was killed in a crash late Friday on Ga. 400 near, according to police.
John Carpenter was a passenger in a 1998 Ford Explorer driven by Seth Wheeler, also 19 and also of Marietta. Police responded to the crash, which happened shortly after 11 p.m. on Ga. 400 South near the Interstate 285 exit.
Investigators say that, for some reason, Wheeler lost control of the truck, causing the one-vehicle crash. Wheeler was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released. No charges had been filed in the case as of Sunday morning.
