Structure To Burn Down Wednesday In Training Exercise
Cobb County firefighters will practice extinguishing a blaze Wednesday at a site in Powder Springs.

MARIETTA, GA — If you see flames or smoke in the sky Wednesday morning in Powder Springs, don't be alarmed. The fire will likely be part of a training exercise conducted by firefighters with Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services.
The Cobb County Department of Public Safety announced Tuesday that the firefighters will undergo training on a donated structure at 1871 Macland Woods Drive in Powder Springs. The exercise is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Crews will practice extinguishing fires inside the structure throughout the day, "culminating with the structure being allowed to burn to the ground in the afternoon," the department said. Heavy smoke may be visible from a distance while the structure burns.
