Mableton Teen Found Stabbed To Death: Report

MABLETON, GA — Cobb County police are investigating the stabbing death of a teenager whose body was found on a playground, according to media reports. Police officers on Monday morning found the body of Naseer Benefield, 17, in the Sierra Forest Apartments in the 6600 block of Mableton Parkway, a police spokesman said.

The teen's grandfather told WSB-TV that the police confirmed that the body found in the playground was his grandson. He said a security guard showed him photos of the crime scene.

Cobb police detectives have no suspects, but are following up leads, the police spokesman said Tuesday.

The teenager had recently moved in with his grandfather in an attempt to get his life back on track, Channel 2 reported.
