Air France Flight Returns to Atlanta After Technical Issue
The Paris-bound airplane got as far as Nova Scotia before turning around.

Passengers aboard an already-delayed Air France flight from Atlanta to Paris received more bad news when the plane turned around and landed at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Friday morning.

According to CBS Atlanta, passengers were never made totally aware of what the issue was, but were told it may have had something to do with fire extinguishers. Whatever the malfunction, passengers were told the pilot was concerned enough to abort the flight before it crossed the Atlantic Ocean.
CBS Atlanta says the flight was Air France Flight 689; data from FlightAware.com shows that flight took off from Hartsfield-Jackson over two hours behind schedule and turned around over Nova Scotia. The Boeing 747 landed in Atlanta again at 3:47 a.m.

Passengers told CBS Atlanta that Air France provided them with vouchers for meals and a hotel until they can be put on another plane to Paris.
