Alleged Hit-and-Run Driver Kills Atlanta Cyclist

Atlanta police are looking for the person they say ran over and killed a cyclist and then fled the scene of the collision early Sunday morning.

Police told WSB-TV that the driver of the vehicle crossed four lanes of traffic, rode up on the curb, and struck the cyclist on the sidewalk along Cleveland Road at approximately 1:15 a.m. A witness told the station that the driver was a white male with no shirt and red shorts, and appeared to be injured.

The Medical Examiner’s Office is waiting to release the identity of the cyclist until his or her family is notified.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact police.
