Alliance Fran?aise d'Atlanta's "Ooh La La Ball" 2014

Alliance Française d’Atlanta will host the “Ooh La La Ball, a Cultural Gourmet Affair” on September 27th, 2014, at 7 pm at the Loews Atlanta Hotel, 1065 Peachtree St NE Atlanta, GA 30309. An exquisite uniquely French buffet dinner will be served prepared by Executive Chef Olivier Gaupin. Diners will savor the experience of French gastronomy accompanied by fine French wines.

Guests will have the chance to socialize with francophiles and francophones from all around the world while shopping Atlanta’s very own “French Market” a curated luxury collection of items for silent and live auction. All proceeds benefit the cultural and educational programming of the Alliance Française d’Atlanta such as its robust cultural agenda, youth outreach and student scholarships.

The Alliance Française d’Atlanta has chosen Dr. Jacqueline Royster, Dean of Georgia Tech’s Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts as its 2014 Global Ambassador. Dean Royster will accept her award at the event. The award recognizes local community leaders that have made a significant contribution to Atlanta through French language and culture or by being a global ambassador for the city. Dean Royster’s special service to Africa-Atlanta and the African-Francophone community serves to recast the negative perceptions about Africa by promoting its beauty, people, arts, and culture. French is spoken by more than 90 million Africans in over 30 African countries.

Reserved tables are $2,500, general admission tickets for AFA members are $160, non-members: $180. Proceeds from this event will allow Alliance Française d’Atlanta to provide scholarships to inner-city students who aspire to speak French fluently or to receive French language certification to study at a French speaking country. In addition, the funds from this event will allow us tocontinue to produce world-class, year round cultural programs and affordable French courses. Alliance Française d’Atlanta (AFA) is the French-American cultural center serving the Atlanta community as the premier provider of French language and culture since 1912. It celebrated it’s 50-year anniversary of the school in 2013: “L’école de l’Alliance Française” founded in 1963 by Mrs. Nora Saporta.
