Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, beloved as one of the world’s most popular dance companies, returns to the fabulous Fox Theatre from February 11 through 15 for their highly anticipated 2015 Atlanta engagement. Artistic Director Robert Battle continues to build the Company’s diverse repertory with exciting performances showcasing Ailey’s extraordinary dancers. This season’s six performances feature a total of ten works including premieres, new productions and Revelations. Highlights include the premiere of ODETTA, a tribute to the legendary singer, songwriter, actress, and activist celebrated as “the voice of the Civil Rights Movement” by Ailey’s own Matthew Rushing. Performance dates and times are as follows: Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 14 at 2 and 8 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 15 at 3 p.m.

Students can enjoy the Thursday evening performance for only $10 by showing a valid student ID. (Student rate tickets must be purchased at the Fox Theatre box office prior to 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 12; limit two tickets per ID.)

Family Matinee: Buy one, get one 50% off

On Saturday, Feb. 14, families are encouraged to spend an afternoon in the city and attend the family matinee at 2 p.m. For each full-price ticket purchased, a second ticket can be purchased for half-price. Following the performance, the entire audience is welcome to join in a free Q&A session with select Ailey dancers.
